Welcome
At the Academic Advising Center, we provide advising and programming for University of Iowa students who are exploring and applying to law school.
We encourage all students who are pre-law to work with their advisor as they develop the skills necessary to be competitive law school applicants and successful law school students. Your advisor will help you consider courses to develop analytical/problem solving skills, critical reading/thinking abilities, writing skills, oral communication and listening skills. Your advisor will also help you think about your engagement on and off campus and in your program of study. Advisors are there to support you as you explore legal careers, networking opportunities, experiential learning, prepare for the LSAT, write your personal statements, apply, and ultimately decided on where you will attend law school.
