During peak advising times, the Academic Advising Center (AAC) provides assistance on a walk-in basis to students who are not typically assigned to the AAC.  We typically have an Advisor on Call (AOC) four hours each day during late March, April, mid-October, and November. The AOC can offer assistance in several ways, including:

  • Seeing students advised outside of the Advising Center who have questions about the General Education Program.
  • Seeing students advised in departments who are thinking about changing their major.
  • Seeing non-degree-seeking students who need information or who wish to register.
  • Seeing students advised at the Academic Advising Center who want information about a major their own adviser doesn't advise.

Please call the Academic Advising Center at (319) 353-5700 to find out when an AOC is available who specializes in the major(s) in which you are interested.
