Schedule Changes

After your SOAR appointment, you may be thinking about modifying your schedule. You should consult your advisor before making any changes -- unless you are only considering changing the times of the courses on the schedule you already discussed with your advisor. We hope you feel by now that your relationship with your advisor is supportive and ongoing, so whenever you have a question or concern, reach out to them.

This video will walk you through how to add a course, drop a course, join a waitlist, and change the section of a course you’re already in.

Program of Study tile in MyUI

Advisors will be available during the summer following SOAR. 

If you need to find the name and email of your advisor:

  • Make sure you are signed in to MyUI
  • Navigate to the HOME section
  • Find the Programs of Study tile in the section titled STUDENT INFORMATION.

If you get an email response that your advisor is away from work for a period of time, you can email the Academic Advising Center: advising-center@uiowa.edu.
