Law school admission is becoming more competitive. Attend this session to learn how to get the most out of your conversations with the law school representatives at the fair. This session is intended for all student attendees.
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Pre-Law Advisor Information Session and Mingle Divine Nine Room, IMU 335
This session will include a brief info session for new pre-law advisors and a chance for all pre-law advisors to meet and discuss pre-law advising at their institution.
11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. MAPLA Caravan Law School Fair, Main Lounge, IMU 180
Speak with law school representatives from across the country at an open-house tabling event. This session provides the opportunity to gain insights about the law school application process and experience straight from the source, as well as to ask individual questions about specific law schools and the application process at the school. Students are also encouraged to stop by tables sponsored by the Law School Admissions Council, pre-law advising, and pre-law student orgs. This session is intended for all Expo attendees.
The Fair is sponsored by the Midwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors.

Hear from financial aid professionals about changes in lending and repayment options for law school students

Current University of Iowa College of Law students will share their experience and advice. What can you do as an undergrad to prepare for law school? What is the first year of law school really like? What are the biggest challenges? What do these students wish they knew then that they know now? This is your chance to learn from experts!

Set Up
The law fair will be taking place in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union. The Main Lounge is on the main floor, enter through the East Entrance.
A catered lunch along with beverages will be available to law school reps.

11:00-3:00pm – Law school fair open

Materials will be delivered to your table on the day of the fair, and need to arrive by Friday, September 18th.

Information for Attendees
What to Wear
A law school fair is not the same as a career fair so you do not need a full suit, however business casual would be appropriate since law school representatives will be putting a face to a name. Wear what makes you feel confident and ready to engage! Wear comfortable shoes.
Law School Tours
Tours of the University of Iowa College of Law are designed for students attending the fair from other colleges and universities.
University of Iowa students should plan to attend Explore Iowa Law on October 10th or schedule an alternative visit.
Registration
The fair is free and open to all, advanced registration is not required.
