Add/Drop Information for International Students

• Dropping a course— ISSS must approve all drop requests that take an
  international student below full-time, as well as all drop requests that involve
  online courses regardless of the impact on total semester hours. Students receive notification via MyUI whenever they need to seek ISSS approval.
  • If an international student drops to 12 sh., international students may have only one online course (between 1-3 sh total) in their registration. Success@Iowa CSI 1600 and hybrid courses (having at least one in-person component) are considered as in-person for the purposes of this regulation.
  • International students may not drop their ESL courses or CSI:1600 Success at Iowa.
  • International students must be enrolled for 12 hours to meet visa
    requirements.
• Adding a course—International students do not need an ISSS signature to
  add a course.
