• SRM:3178 Communications and Public Relations in Sport (3 sh)
• SRM:3157 Managerial Operations in Sport and Recreation (3 sh)

Must have 30 s.h. completed for the following:

• SRM:3151 Liability in Sport and Recreation (3 sh)
• SRM:3152 Design and Management of Sport and Recreation Facilities (3 sh)
• SRM:3153 Sport Business Practices (3 sh)
• SRM:3158 Sport and Recreation Promotion (3 sh)
• SRM:3172 Finance in Sport and Recreation (3 sh)

Field Experience (Complete 9 s.h.)

• SRM:4197 (all sections require special permission) - Contact Anna Jensen (anna-jensen@uiowa.edu) for permission and any further questions.
  • There are multiple sections of this course. Students need to enroll for this class several times.
    45 hours of field experience = 1 semester hour.
  • Sections good for any student are: “Fans First” and “Iowa Games”

• State of Iowa Coaching Authorization requires:
  • SRM:3149 Coaching Theory, Body Structure, and Human Development
  • SRM:3155 Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries for Coaches
• To be an AD requires an SRM major and the Athletic Director certificate (not AD concentration)
• SRM minor: Max of 6 s.h. of overlap with other POS (especially important if EVNT cert).
